Inukshuk and Fog!
I left the Soo around 11h45 am. Another 7-8 hours ahead. Still sunny and warm!
The road between Sault-Ste-Marie and Thunder Bay is gorgeous, you drive by the Lake Superior, there's a lot of scenic point. I really enjoy my ride there, the lake, the forest, nice cliff, really beautiful, and sometimes it was weird, you're driving and all of sudden, bang!, big fog all over the places for 5-10 minutes and then no more fog, back to blue sky.
And all along the way, you see Inukshuk. An inukshuk is a stone landmark used as a milestone or directional marker by the Inuit of the Canadian Arctic. Inuksuit differ from cairns in significance. Inuksuit vary in shape and size, and perform a diverse array of tasks. The word inuksuk means something which acts for or performs the function of a human. It is a symbol with deep roots in the Inuit culture, a directional marker that signifies safety, hope and friendship.
Finally I stop and build my first Inukshuk, at the Agawa Bay scenic point. The one in the picture is actually the big one in Winnipeg, on Broadway Street. I'll write about that later.
And after that on the way I stopped to Wawa (hometown of NHL Player Chris Simon), actually there there's a french community, the people at the grocery store were french, and also at the gas station. Interesting.
